Where it stops
Universal Clipboard has hard edges, and they're not bugs — they're the design:
- Apple devices only. There is nothing for Windows or Android, and there's unlikely to ever be.
- Devices must be near each other, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on and the same Apple ID signed in everywhere.
- No history. Whatever you copied last is all you get. Copy something else and the previous clip is gone.
- Occasional silent failures. When it doesn't work, there's no error — you just paste the wrong thing.

When Universal Clipboard is the better choice
All-Apple household, devices usually in the same room, and you only ever need the last thing you copied: stick with the built-in. It's faster to set up (there's nothing to set up) and nothing extra to sign in to. Use MoveMyWork when Windows or Android enters the picture, when you want a history, or when the two machines are miles apart.

Does Apple's Universal Clipboard work on Windows?
No. It only works between Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID, near each other, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on. There's no Windows or Android version. To copy on an iPhone or Mac and paste on a Windows PC you need a third-party tool such as MoveMyWork.
Does MoveMyWork sync my iPhone clipboard in the background?
No — iOS doesn't allow any app to read the clipboard in the background, and we won't pretend otherwise. On iPhone you open the MoveMyWork web app and paste into it, or copy out of it. On Windows, the desktop app syncs what you copy automatically.
Does MoveMyWork keep a clipboard history?
Yes. Everything you've copied from any signed-in device sits in one searchable list. You can copy anything back, and hide or delete clips you don't want kept. Universal Clipboard only ever holds your last copy.
Do my devices need to be near each other?
