Basics

What is MoveMyWork?

MoveMyWork is a universal clipboard: copy something on one device, paste it on another. It keeps a searchable history of everything you've copied, and adds share links, shared workrooms and a combined calendar view on top. It runs in the browser at movemywork.com, with a desktop tray app for Windows.

Is MoveMyWork free?

Yes. The free tier gives you 3 GB of storage, files up to 250 MB, three workrooms, and files kept for 30 days — no credit card needed, and it isn't a trial. Pro adds 100 GB of storage, files up to 5 GB, unlimited workrooms, and files that never expire.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything works in an ordinary browser tab. There's an optional tray app for Windows that syncs what you copy automatically, but it's a convenience, not a requirement.

Devices

Which platforms does MoveMyWork run on?

Windows has a native tray app that auto-syncs your clipboard. Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android use the web app at movemywork.com — nothing to install. On iPhone you can add it to your Home Screen, where it looks and behaves like an app.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?

Not a native one. On phones you use the web app, which on iPhone can be added to the Home Screen as a PWA. The only native client today is the Windows tray app.

Does it sync my clipboard in the background on my phone?

No — iOS and Android don't allow background clipboard access, for us or anyone else, and we won't pretend otherwise. On a phone you open the web app and paste into it, or copy out of it. The automatic part only happens on Windows, via the tray app.

Sharing

Can I send a file to someone who doesn't have an account?

Yes. Any clip or file can become a share link in two clicks, and the person you send it to just opens the link in a browser — no account, no signup. Share links are included on the free tier.

Are share links safe?

Each link uses a long random token that can't realistically be guessed, and share pages are kept out of search engines. You can add a passphrase, set an expiry time, cap the number of views, and revoke a link at any moment. The full details are on our security page.

What are workrooms?

Workrooms are small shared spaces for a group: chat (with reactions, pins and voice notes), shared files you can organise into folders, and a to-do list. People join by invite or a join code. Free accounts get three workrooms; Pro gets unlimited.

Security & your data

Is MoveMyWork end-to-end encrypted?

No, and we won't claim it is. Traffic uses HTTPS, files are stored encrypted at rest, and passwords and share passphrases are hashed — but our servers can process your data, which is what makes search and share links work. If you need true end-to-end encryption, we're not the right tool for that.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Settings has an “Export your data” button that downloads a zip of your clips and files. There's no lock-in and no waiting period.

What happens when I delete my account?

Everything goes: clips, files, share links, login history, the lot. It's a hard delete, not a “deactivate” — your files are removed from storage as part of the same deletion.

Billing

How much does Pro cost?

$7 a month, or $70 a year — the yearly price works out at two months free. You can switch plans or cancel from the billing portal at any time.

How do I cancel Pro?

From Billing in the app, which opens a customer portal where you can cancel in a couple of clicks, any time. No emails to write, no retention call.

What happens to files on the free tier?

Files on the free tier are kept for 30 days from upload, then deleted. Treat free as the fast lane for moving work around, not an archive. Files on Pro never expire.

What happens if I downgrade from Pro?

You get a 14-day grace period, and nothing is deleted during it. Use it to get back under the free limits, or to export anything you want to keep. After that, the normal free-tier limits apply.
