The story isn't dramatic. We kept emailing ourselves links. Airdropping URLs to the iPhone because iCloud clipboard refused to work reliably. Pasting into Slack DMs to ourselves just to get something onto the other laptop. One afternoon we built a small tool to stop doing all that. Then we realised other people might want it too.
Because a clipboard is infrastructure. If you care about what a tool does with your data, you shouldn't have to take anyone's word for it. The source is available. The setup is straightforward. If we vanish tomorrow, your clipboard doesn't.
Personal use costs us almost nothing — a few cents of bandwidth per user per month. It would feel wrong to charge for that. The Pro tier (soon) is for people who actually need more than the free tier gives. That pays for itself, and funds the rest.
No ads. No selling data. No AI summarisation of your clipboard. No read receipts on share links. No enshittification-flavour tier changes — the free tier stays usable, permanently.
