First, what this is and isn't
Let's be plain: MoveMyWork's calendar is a combined read-only view, not two-way sync. You keep creating and editing events exactly where you do now — Outlook stays Outlook, Google stays Google. What we add is one place where all of them appear together, so "am I actually free Thursday afternoon?" has one answer instead of three tabs.
That's a deliberate choice, not a missing feature. Two-way sync between calendar systems is where duplicated events and silently dropped edits come from. A read-only view can't corrupt anything: if a source is wrong, fix it at the source and the view follows.
What it aggregates
- Google Calendar — connect your Google account and pick which calendars to include.
- CalDAV calendars — iCloud, Fastmail and other standards-speaking providers.
- Any ICS feed — the "subscribe by URL" links that team calendars, school timetables and booking systems publish.
- Outlook desktop — via Outlook's own "publish calendar to a custom server" feature, which speaks WebDAV. Outlook pushes its calendar to MoveMyWork on its own schedule; we display what arrives.
Setting it up
1. Google, iCloud and ICS feeds
In the app, open Calendar and add a source. Google connects with a sign-in; CalDAV providers ask for your calendar credentials (for iCloud that's an app-specific password); an ICS feed just needs its URL pasted in. Each source shows up in its own colour.
2. Outlook desktop
Outlook on Windows can publish a calendar to a WebDAV server — it's under the calendar's publishing options. MoveMyWork gives you a publish URL and credentials to paste in; from then on Outlook uploads changes automatically and they appear in your combined view. Note this is Outlook desktop's publishing feature — it's a one-way push from Outlook, which is exactly what a read-only view needs.
3. Look at one calendar from now on
That's the payoff. Open MoveMyWork's calendar on any device — it's a web app, so your phone works too — and every source is there, overlaid, read-only, current.
Who this actually helps
Anyone straddling two calendar worlds: a work Outlook you don't control and a personal Google account; a freelancer with one calendar per client; a household calendar on iCloud next to a work one on Google. It's part of the same idea as the rest of MoveMyWork's features — your stuff, visible from whichever device you happen to be holding. If your week is split across a work laptop and personal everything-else, the remote workers page shows how the pieces fit together.
Frequently asked
Is this two-way sync?
No. It is a combined read-only view. You still create and edit events in Outlook or Google Calendar; MoveMyWork shows them together so you can see your real day.
Which calendars can it aggregate?
Google Calendar, CalDAV calendars (iCloud, Fastmail and others), any ICS feed URL, and Outlook desktop via its publish-to-custom-server (WebDAV) feature.
Why not just two-way sync everything?
Two-way sync between calendar systems is where duplicates and silently dropped edits come from. A read-only combined view cannot corrupt anything — the sources stay in charge.
